As some of you might know, I’m a Serato user, I’ve been using it for several months now, replacing my old vinyls. Well I may be switching to ableton live now after the announcement of the new APC40. I had heard rumblings of Ableton and Akai working together, but I didn’t really expect something like this, I also never realized that ableton was DJ-able, I mean I’ve seen some of the other fancy controllers, but I always kind of thought it was for the live PA guys who say they’re a DJ but really just play some loops, if I can load in my library, set cue points, and play whole songs without latency or insane start up times, I’ll give it a try. I’m probably just getting a bit hyped up over the nice buttons and knobbage, but I’m optimistic about the new possibilities with this device.
