We are proud to present our first edition of the Feral Fiyah Mixtapes series. We kick things off with this exclusive mixtape by the hard hittin’ moombahton duo that goes by the name Sazon Booya. Consisting of Mr. Vega and DJ Sav, Sazon Booya first emerged on the moombahton scene earlier this year and took it by storm with their release of La Bomba EP. They sure know how to keep things caliente and get you bumpin’ n grindin’ on the dancefloor with their latin influenced productions. In the past months, Sazon Booya released dope edits as well as originals and remixes, killed it in clubs and even traveled to France with Skrillex and Munchi. It seems like things are only going to get bigger and better from here on as there’s a tour in the works and not to mention their new EP of which some originals can be heard in this mix. Sazon Booya has surely made it’s name in the scene and with this mixtape (which is filled with tons of exclusives) will probably make you hungry to hear more of what other tasty moombahton flavors this duo has to offer. Download the mix here. Full tracklist below.

Straight from the UK I present you with Feral aka MC Kinky. This gyal is one of the coolest homies around and is also an absolute boss when it comes to producing and has by far one of the best vocals in the biz. The kinky MC is credited as being the first white female ragga MC in music history! She has worked with names such as Pete Tong, Paul Oakenfold, Danny Tenalgia, Joost van Bellen and many more. Furthermore, she also had a residency in Ibiza at Manumission which is this big circus-like club night that I have yet to experience. Nowadays Feral aka MC Kinky is busy bustin’ out new tunes and performing at festivals and totally killin it in the scene, boom!
Exclusive to Feral PartyKids, we are giving away the first 100 downloads of Feral aka MC Kinky’s upcoming single “Chit Chat” for free!. Grab it quick as this massive track is not available for download anywhere else and won’t be available as free download anymore once the download limit is reached. To other producers or DJ’s out there that would like to get their hands on the wav, hit us up and we’ll hook you up.

Kuenta i Tambú – Èzè (Fellow Remix)
September 12th, 2011
Rous
Our favorite islander aka Fellow released this crazy remix today of KIT, a percussion group from Curacao based in the Netherlands. I don’t even know what to call this; I’d say it’s what some mad tribal mashup would sound like after getting the caribbean treatment. I still need to hear this out loud in a club but it’s safe to say that this definitely bangs hard. Also, be on the lookout for more Fellow madness in the upcoming months as we’ve been told that there’s quite a few remix coming out and possibly a new EP or two. Grab the “Eze” remix below and let Fellow know how you liked it by giving him a shoutout on facebook or twitter.

LOL Boys – Bubbles EP
August 25th, 2011
Rous
Our friends over at Cocobass released this new LOL Boys EP on monday and it’s already blowing up everywhere on the interwebs. While Cocobass is home to some of the most influential producers from Latin America, this might be their biggest release yet. LA based Jerome Potter and Montreal based Markus Garcia are the duo behind LOL Boys which in my opinion have been producing straight up fiyahs since I first heard of them a while back. Bubbles EP features some next level calypso, dutch house, bubblin’ and even a little moombahton blending which clearly shows the duo exploring new musical grounds. Find below some tracks off Bubbles EP and the download link to grab the complete release which is inspired by Jerome’s 17 year old blind pet ‘Bubbles’.

Summer Festivals:Identity Fest 2011 Charlotte, NC Recap
August 21st, 2011
moneyforsluts
Christos and I went out to Identity Fest this week to take in a lot of good music and the whole “summer concert/music festival” vibe. It’s a nice change of pace from the normal club or small concert kind of thing and it gives you the chance to take in some music acts you might not normally get to see in your city (see what’s coming and where).
We got there pretty early to catch all of the acts, we got to speak with one of the early acts, a Canadian Duo named “Data Romance“. We really enjoyed their spacey, dubby, soundtrack kind of sound. Check them out and you might get to hear some tracks from their “Ashes EP”, coming out October 1st.
Download “Data Romance – The Deep” from their site.
We had to check out Holy Ghost!, and they did not disappoint. They played all the tracks you’d expect, and it’s very interesting to see them played live. I was especially interested in one piece of gear they had on stage, it was a wooden box with metal panels, knobs and cables. I looks like some kind of effects unit, but being the synth nerd that I am, I immediately recognized it as a double-sided modular synthesizer. I ran back stage to get a slightly better look and saw it was a Synthesizers.com (generally known as just ‘dotcom’) modular analog synthesizer. I stopped one of the band members as they were leaving and asked them about it. He said that they like to use the modular in the studio for most of their synth lines, but had to figure out a way to take it with them, so they made this smaller unit. He said the box was an arrangement of a few oscillators and filters synced it up to their master click track and sequencer. I really wanted to snap a picture of it for you guys but they were breaking down so I didn’t get the chance. Make absolutely certain that you check out a live show from them sometime, they do a DJ set frequently, which is good, but doesn’t hold a candle to their full band performance.

We then booked it over to check out Le Castlevania’s show, which was another fun one. By this time the crowd was really filling up and Le Castlevania had already began throwing the crowd near the stage into a big rave/moshpit/partyzone kind of frenzy. He was really taking advantage of the concert atmosphere to rockstar style onstage antics really getting the crowd pumped up and into it. We also got to speak with LCV after the show, which I’ll talk about in another post because I’m already rambling.
As the sun went down the music just kept getting harder. Nero’s set was the best of the night, he played absolutely nothing but really nasty dubstep mixed well, I would kill for a mixtape from that set, if you go to IDfest and he’s there, don’t miss him. This was followed up with the headliners, Aoki brought out some huge LED lit letters, played Dim Mak’s best, and climbed on anything that wouldn’t fall over and sprayed champagne on one of the biggest crowds I’ve ever seen, always a good time. Kaskade was playing from a stage maybe 40 feet above the stage, complete with massive visuals on white curtains in his signature pastels. Stepping into the main hall here was like being transported to one of those Euro mega-raves that I’ve always wanted to go to but have only seen on video. Between those two shows it was pretty much impossible not to have a great time.

One recommendation, make sure you party beforehand, drinks are even pricier there than at some of the nicest club venues.
Maluca & The Partysquad – Lola (Ging Danga)
August 18th, 2011
Rous
A month or two ago we posted the preview for Lola and now it’s finally here. Maluca’s new party banger was produced by dutch powerhouse The Partysquad who’s been hard at work bustin’ out some big jams lately. The crazy dominicana explained to The Fader that the song is “inspired by the call girls in the back of the Village Voice,” that are, “a part of society that’s been overlooked and brushed under the rug.” This tune has a kinda warm vibe to it but still makes you want to get up and dance with a sexy Lola on the dancefloor…grab it and have a listen to ging danga, or as i’d like to call it: ging bangaaaa. Shoutout to all the Lola’s out there.
