Feral Spotlight:Beyourself Network

beyourselfnetwork03

Beyourself network’s compilations goal is discovering emerging artists who distribute their own music on mainly networks & underground scenes. Each volume will be selected by a guest giving him/her a total “carte blanche” to select music and artwork that will introduce his playlist, his highlight tracks, his secret music bombs… In other words, his network ! BeYourself project started on June 2008 with a goal: support emerging artists who bump into record labels’ lack of initiative (They don’t have a lot of manoeuvre margin with the actual music industry circumstances). Nowadays, a lot of artists who have their own style distribute their music on mainly networks with auto promotions. This way they can share and broadcast their works. Anyway, for most of them, they don’t have enough visibility because of the releases and remixes affluence… Too much tracks circulate and get lost in a Web that gets fatter and fatter. To a medium term, the aim of this project is promote BeYourself Compilation’s artists. A challenge our guests will rise to the occasion giving them a total “Carte Blanche” on each volume. No boundaries : each guest will bring his own vision and personal touch. With the new music industry deal, the internet and its networks are more than ever full of talent. This project has a simple and ambitious aim: give more visibility to underground scenes’ activists’ artists on audio releases… Live, an itinerant party with young talents and surprise guests will care about making your nights hot and authentic…

Feral spotlight:Insight Dynamiks

insight-dynamiks-logo1

Oli, is half English, half French and moved to France when he was 10 years old. It was another 5 years until he would meet Ben and start a music group.

Oli discovered electronic music during the 90’s. At the time he was also a keen guitar player with years of guitar lessons with a jazz teacher (he deciphered the guitar solo of Stairway to Heaven by ear aged 13). In 2000 he graduated from high school Oli went back to the UK to study business. During his studies he put on his first parties, meeting his first producers and dj’s, playing his first mixes … By 2003 he had already played and collaborated in places like Greece, Spain and Italy.

Ben started djing when he was 14 and by his 20th birthday, was throwing huge parties around the suburbs of Paris. Perfectionist and eclectic he inspires himself through a variety of different genres thanks to his stupidly massive vinyl collection. After his mechanical engineering studies he too came to Brighton and Insight Dynamiks took a new turn and got a whole lot more serious.

The years spent in Brighton slowly pushed the two into creating their own tracks. Soon they had a full-fledged studio setup and were doing just that.

To get the album project done, Oli and Ben decided beginning of 2007 to move back to Paris where they have been producing ever since. It was in Paris that electro went from maybe to totally and turned the group into what it is today. Oli is currently the one with audio engineering and synthesis skills. Ben throws loads of the ideas into the mix with his djing experience.

In February 2009 Insight Dynamiks released 2 EP’s called ‘Lucky Striked’ and ‘Peace by Piece’. You can find these releases at most online music stores.
