Feral Spotlight:Attack 1985

2 Friends joined a team of DJs who love to play mash-ups and massive electro Tracks, ATTACK 1985 are 2 young German Guys Stephan and Marcel. What happened at first only in the private area and to the pleasure of own soul, ran very promisingly, so that the striving for good music became shifted ones, in the end, further outwardly up to any club scenery. Numerous nights full enthusiasm consisted in doing the people at musical level in ecstasy, many positive resonances of the partycrowd and the slow forming of a draft did her other to let prosper the project.Theyre Sets are crazy combinations with classic rockabilly tracks being mixed together with disco while electro and new wave would clash one song later.
So let the ATTACK begin!

Who would you like to perform with in the future?
Soulwax would be the biggest thing..they are heroes!and Michael Jackson but they would get en heart attack from our music.

Who were your greatest influences musically?

Hmmm maybe Metallica vs. Aphex Twin

When did you finally realize you wanted to be a Dj/Producer?
After a shity house music party with 16..producing only 4 years ago.

Who affects you today musically?
We think alot of artists would say the same names like Justice blah blah, but thats the truth, all this french stuff is very good but they’re are also alot of artists that make good music in the underground without this hype. We like everything from Proxy and Boys Noize, they have this strong and rough sound we love!

What CD is in your car stereo right now?

Our Essential mix of course hehe and the Prodigy album 09

Feral spotlight:Insight Dynamiks

insight-dynamiks-logo1

Oli, is half English, half French and moved to France when he was 10 years old. It was another 5 years until he would meet Ben and start a music group.

Oli discovered electronic music during the 90’s. At the time he was also a keen guitar player with years of guitar lessons with a jazz teacher (he deciphered the guitar solo of Stairway to Heaven by ear aged 13). In 2000 he graduated from high school Oli went back to the UK to study business. During his studies he put on his first parties, meeting his first producers and dj’s, playing his first mixes … By 2003 he had already played and collaborated in places like Greece, Spain and Italy.

Ben started djing when he was 14 and by his 20th birthday, was throwing huge parties around the suburbs of Paris. Perfectionist and eclectic he inspires himself through a variety of different genres thanks to his stupidly massive vinyl collection. After his mechanical engineering studies he too came to Brighton and Insight Dynamiks took a new turn and got a whole lot more serious.

The years spent in Brighton slowly pushed the two into creating their own tracks. Soon they had a full-fledged studio setup and were doing just that.

To get the album project done, Oli and Ben decided beginning of 2007 to move back to Paris where they have been producing ever since. It was in Paris that electro went from maybe to totally and turned the group into what it is today. Oli is currently the one with audio engineering and synthesis skills. Ben throws loads of the ideas into the mix with his djing experience.

In February 2009 Insight Dynamiks released 2 EP’s called ‘Lucky Striked’ and ‘Peace by Piece’. You can find these releases at most online music stores.

Feral Spotlight:The Studio Band Headliner

tallblack
Originally from the north (NJ/NY area), moved to FL in 2001 and started making music in 2004. Started out as “DJRM”, solo Industrial music project, got into a girl band playing guitar called “The Monas” for a brief moment in time, started in another band called Slowing Inertia as the guitarist for that for about a year and started a side project with the singer doing electronic music named “Inbox”. Left Slowing Inertia when they turned into “Between Lives” (and continued to ”Start Change Stop” and now “Tides of Man”) and started “The Shades”, played several shows in FL with that band as singer, guitarist and bass for two years. Put that band on hold, all the while still making music as “DJRM”. DJed at a few small places as “DJRM” and got a bit of radio play last year off the album “Dissonance” following an interview on 88.5 WMNF for the show ZenTrip. I started recording other artists in a studio downtown Clearwater as “Pernicious Records” briefly and then I decided to contribute to the modern club scene with The Studio Band Headliner. I put all of my projects under the Pernicious Records label and have been working hard on getting recognition for The Studio Band Headliner. The sole, REAL band member of TSBH is, I will let you in on this secret, just me, James Makan; but Erik Eisenman, bassist, guitarist and vocalist from “The Shades” has agreed to help me play for the purpose of live shows during tours as well a few other friends I have played music with throughout the years. I have a good feedback ratio for this band of about 100:1 and I have gotten a few DJs to add my music to their playlists for their own shows. So far, as this band’s birthdate is December of 2008, the recorded discography is just the EP “Short Cut” – but later in 2009 the album ”F***, Marry, Murder” will be released and a tour will be thrown out for the promotion of that album’s release immediately after.

Tell me some of the dj’s/Bands  you’ve performed with?
I used to make industrial/dance music under a different name (DJRM) but I hadn’t done any public shows really besides an interview on the radio at 2am,maybe.With other bands I have been in, I have played live shows throughout my career in music. Other bands that we have played on the set with in the past are: Taffy, Tides of Man, Tabula Rasa, Start Change Stop, The Mants and a few others.

Who would you like to perform with in the future?
I’d love to perform with The Faint, MGMT, Interpol, Depeche Mode, Justice, She Wants Revenge, The Strokes… to name a very small few.

Feral Review:Justice A Cross The Universe

So the other day I got my copy of A Cross The Universe in the mail.I have been to busy up until yesterday to watch it.Well now that I’ve watched it I must say it is a very dope documentary. This is a must watch for all into partying in general. There tour manager is nuts lol he loves guns and carries one around everywhere and in one scene 10 cops come into a restaurant and arrest him and search everyone cause the waitress calls the police on them. The documentary starts in NYC at there Madison Square Garden show and follows them on there Journey across North America. There are lots of parties, fights, and music in this bit.You get to see alot of the behind the scenes of what goes on.Everything from Xavier de Rosnay smashing a beer bottle on some drunk kids head to Gaspard Augé banging some chick in the bus.I give this a 4 star rating.I do wish that they went a little more in depth in the shows but non the less it’s a good buy for any Justice fan.Not to mention the Cd that comes with this is really dope if your into live sets.A Cross The Universe will be available to everyone Tues at all major retailers.

Justice A Cross The Universe

So today I bring you guys two trailers for the new Justice A Cross The Universe documentary. If your familiar with Romain Gavras then you already know this is going to be dope,If not he is the producer behind most of Justice’s creative music videos. This will be out on DVD November 24th also coming out along side with it is there new live cd,which will also be super dope.So keep an eye out.
