A-Team Soundtrack

Ok so I have been sitting on this for over a week.I am sorry I didn’t share it sooner but I wanted to see the movie in all its glory before sharing these remixes for the movies sound track.The movie was good not great but I will buy a copy on bluray when it comes out.I really wish they would have used Mr.T to play Baracus; But the guy they did cast did an alright job.I would have put more gold on him.Also instead of them driving the Humvee around so much I would have used more of the signature van.One thing is forsure however this soundtrack is going to be killer.With remixes from the likes of MSTRKRFT, M.I.A’s ‘Rye Rye’ and Dan the Automator it will surely be a nice addition to go alongside the movie. below are some tracks from the up and coming soundtrack.Enjoy….

Cool Story, Hansel

I’ve got some original content here! Well not the songs (they’re pretty old, but they’re good), but a story. I had a small half-assed interview with JFK (MSTRKRFT/DFA1979/Teenage Riot Records). The first thing I asked him was about a quote that was put up on their website at one point about James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem/DFA records). Here’s the article in Pitchfork that kind of talks about it. Basically the old story is that way back James Murphy took legal action against Death From Above because their name could be abbreviated to DFA, the name of his record label. Death From Above changed their name to Death From Above 1979 and the following was posted on their site:

Keeler of MSTRKRFT and Adrian Martinez of Undocumented Management. They realized that there was a need for a simple, fair and safe place for artists to put out their music, done in a way that answers the challenges and needs created by the new digital age of music. In other words, an artist driven label whose main goal is to give forward-thinking new music an effective outlet to reach the world.

Feral spotlight:Insight Dynamiks

Oli, is half English, half French and moved to France when he was 10 years old. It was another 5 years until he would meet Ben and start a music group.

Oli discovered electronic music during the 90’s. At the time he was also a keen guitar player with years of guitar lessons with a jazz teacher (he deciphered the guitar solo of Stairway to Heaven by ear aged 13). In 2000 he graduated from high school Oli went back to the UK to study business. During his studies he put on his first parties, meeting his first producers and dj’s, playing his first mixes … By 2003 he had already played and collaborated in places like Greece, Spain and Italy.

Ben started djing when he was 14 and by his 20th birthday, was throwing huge parties around the suburbs of Paris. Perfectionist and eclectic he inspires himself through a variety of different genres thanks to his stupidly massive vinyl collection. After his mechanical engineering studies he too came to Brighton and Insight Dynamiks took a new turn and got a whole lot more serious.

The years spent in Brighton slowly pushed the two into creating their own tracks. Soon they had a full-fledged studio setup and were doing just that.

To get the album project done, Oli and Ben decided beginning of 2007 to move back to Paris where they have been producing ever since. It was in Paris that electro went from maybe to totally and turned the group into what it is today. Oli is currently the one with audio engineering and synthesis skills. Ben throws loads of the ideas into the mix with his djing experience.

In February 2009 Insight Dynamiks released 2 EP’s called ‘Lucky Striked’ and ‘Peace by Piece’. You can find these releases at most online music stores.
