I’ve been fully enjoying the global warming this summer, kind of makes you want to buy a car that pollutes more doesn’t it? Last summer I didn’t enjoy the outdoors nearly as much, so I encourage everyone else to enjoy the summer while it lasts, and anyone who was at Christo’s B-Day party already has a good pool party under their belt. Here’s some music that should inspire you.

Empire of the Sun – Walking On A Dream (Money For Sluts Remix)

This is my jam, comment and let me know if you like it. I laid down my bass guitar with some synth stabs and crazy basslines to make it fun.

Fukkk Offf – Bl00dfuck (Lebatman Remix)

I was amazed when I heard this, if you’ve heard the new Fukkk Offf album or at least “Rave is King”, you’d expect something hard, Lebatman (love the name) takes it in a different direction.

Miami Horror – Don’t Be On With Her (Treasure Fingers remix)

Treasure Fingers (if you haven’t seen him live, check him out sometime, he comes around the east coast a lot), puts some new life in this 2 year old (can you believe it?) jam with some cool vocals that really resurrect this song we’ve all loved.

Little Boots – Remedy (Ruskos Big Trainers Remix)

Rusko brings out the “Pro Nails” treatment with this one, with the “Hey!”s and “Oh!”s and of course the BASSLINE.

We got an unexpected amount of traffic from the Michael Jackson post, and were even linked to from a rolling stone article. I started looking and saw that it seems like a lot of people have been looking for Michael Jackson remixes, so I figured I’d start this one off with an MJ song that probably wouldn’t come up on a hype machine post, it’s a Boys Noize track that is more or less a rework of “Beat It”.

Music for road trippin

I just got back from a trip to Charleston for the weekend, the trip was a bit longer than I expected, but the drive can be enjoyable if you prepare beforehand. First off, get a comedy set from Mitch Hedburg, it’s a great way to start the trip, get in some laughs, don’t have to talk during it, so you won’t have to waste all of your good conversation up front. Then get a collection of just relaxing cool jams, nothing too pounding, it can get a bit old after a few hours, just some cool tunes for the background, I’ve posted some below so you can get a good start (these are from my private stock, probably won’t be able to find them on the hype machine or the like). Then, and this is very important, bring a few beers to drink during the second leg of the trip after you’ve had the laughs and have the jams playing, if you drive around the speed limit and don’t do anything stupid, you shouldn’t have to worry about getting an open container while you’re on the interstate. Just dump them before you get off and throw on your best party music to get pumped for the drive in.
